2025 Virginia State Fair

Our string had a very sucessful year at the VA State Fair. Trey placed 1st overall in the State Jr. Dairymen's contest and was on the 3rd place overall senior team. Trey won Jr and Reserve Jr Champion Brown Swiss with Pear and Winzit, Grand Champion Brown Swiss with Twist, and Grand Champion Holstein and Supreme Champion Overall with Peacock. Trey also won senior shomanship. 

2025 All-American Dairy Show

This year All-American came with some travel difficulties and plan changes but ended with some successful showing. Trey broght Pear, Tapioca, Sunrise, Twist, and Peacock. Twist was 2nd place 4 year old, Best Udder in class, and Best Bred and Owned in the open show. Pear was 6th place fall calf in the junior show. Peacock was 6th place in the open and junior show. Sunrise was 3rd place fall yearling in milk in the junior show. This was also Hayley's last year showing as a junior, competing with Sangria in the Red and White junior show.

2025 Rockingham County Fair

This year was very successful for Trey and his assortment of animals. On the dairy side, Trey won Supreme Junior Champion with Pear, Junior Champion Red and White with Maple, Grand Champion Holstein with Peacock, and placed first in dairy showmanship. This was the third year for dairy feeder steers at the fair and Trey placed second in dairy steer showmanship. Outside of dairy, Trey won Senior Poultry Showmanship, Reserve Champion Large Foul, Reserve Senior Rabbit Showmanship, and placed third with his hog.

2025 Virginia Summer Showdown

We had a very successful showing at this years Virginia Summer Showdown. Trey started out the week by placing 3rd in intermediate showmanship. Trey's calf Tapioca won Reserve Junior Champion Brown Swiss Youth. In the Holstein cow show, Peacock was awarded Grand Champion Youth and Reserve Grand Champion Open. The family also won 2nd place Holstein Breeder's Herd.

2025 National Holstein Convention

We had a lot of fun in St. Louis, MO. Hayley competed in Senior Jeopardy making it to the semifinal round. She also competed in the Senior Dairy Knowledge Exam, placing 2nd, and the Digital Scrapbook Contest, placing 1st. Hayley and Becky enjoyed touring 3 farms in southern IL and participating in the fun evening activities. 

2025 National Brown Swiss Convention

Trey and Jeremy took 5 of our Brown Swiss heifers to Lebanon, PA, for the Convention and Mid-Atlantic Brown Swiss Show. Trey was recognized as the District 2 Youth Achievement Award Finalist. 

2025 SDSU Dairy Club

Hayley has had an amazing spring in the SDSU Dairy Club. She has taken on leadership roles as Vice President and on the Cheesebox Committee. She has had fun participating in activities such as Cheeseboxes, Central Plains Dairy Expo, and the Puerto Rico Trip. She also attended the National ADSA in Lousiville, KY, and competed in Dairy Bowl. Her team placed 2nd overall!

Rockingham County 4-H

  • Trey was on the Junior Dairy Bowl team that placed 1st at the 2025 contest. 

  • At the 2025 State 4-H Dairy Judging Contest, Trey placed 1st individual junior FFA, 2nd individual senior 4-H and was on the 1st place senior 4-H team.

  • Trey placed 1st individual senior and was on the 1st place senior team in the 2025 Dairy Skillathon Contest.

2025 Show Like A Pro Workshop

Trey learned a lot this year at Show Like A Pro with Hayley's fall calf Salute. He had fun bonding with other kids from Virginia and meeting dairy kids from other states in the area. This was his first year competing in the fit out and learned a lot from the experience.

2025 SDSU Dairy Challenge

This spring Hayley competed on the SDSU Dairy Challenge Team. She competed in the regional contest in Brookings, SD, as well as the National Contest in Gainesville, FL. Her team placed 4th at the National Contest, and she learned a lot about auditing dairy farms around the country.

2025 NC All Breeds Spring Show

We had a great time in Winston-Salem, NC for their All Breeds Spring Show. Trey won Grand Champion Brown Swiss with Twist, Youth Junior Champion with Ribbon, and Reserve Youth Junior Champion with Winzit.  Trey also placed 6th in Intermediate Showmanship.
